Alliance For Nuclear Responsibility

The Alliance for Nuclear Responsibility works to educate and protect the citizens of the State of California and future generations from the dangers of radioactive contamination. They support educating the public on options for energy generation, the dangers of aging nuclear plants and the increasing production and storage of high-level radioactive waste on California’s coastal zone.

The Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League is a regional, community-based, non-profit environmental organization. Their founding principles are earth stewardship, environmental democracy, social justice, and community empowerment.

Committee to Bridge the Gap

The Committee to Bridge the Gap is a non-profit nuclear policy organization focusing on issues of nuclear safety, waste disposal, proliferation, and disarmament.

Founded in 1970, their work is aimed at revealing and correcting government misconduct in the control of nuclear and related hazardous materials that pose significant threats to public health and security if not carefully regulated.

Eon's mission is to find, document, link, map and publicize existing, up-&-working components of what can become a sustainable planetary society based on justice, equity, peace, and ecological security;

FukushimaResponse

FukushimaResponse is a regional network (Northern California) of concerned individuals working together to disseminate information in order to spur local and global demands for action in response to the immediate threat of catastrophic global radiation contamination emanating from the devastated Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in Japan. 

 

Green Action (Japan)

Green Action is a Japanese activist NGO organization working to create a nuclear-power-free Japan. Established in 1991, Green Action is based in Kyoto near one of the highest concentrations of nuclear power plants in the world.

They work hands-on locally, regionally, and nationally, connecting local people and experts, activists around the country to each other, and Japanese experts, NGOs and their international counterparts

Mothers For Peace

 The organization’s concerns include the dangers of nuclear power, weapons, and waste on national and global levels. Additionally, Mothers for Peace cares about peace, social justice, and a safe environment. The group takes on all of these issues, working to make the world safer and more humane for generations to come.

NIRS

NIRS is a national non-profit organization devoted to a nuclear-free, carbon-free world.They have served as the information and networking hub for people and organizations concerned about nuclear power, radioactive waste, radiation, and sustainable energy issues since 1978.They work internationally to create a sustainable energy future without nuclear power, and are affiliated with the World Information Service on Energy (WISE) International.

Physicians for Social Responsibility

Safecast

Safecast is an international, volunteer-centered organization devoted to open citizen science for the environment. After the devastating earthquake and tsunami which struck eastern Japan on March 11, 2011, and the subsequent meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, accurate and trustworthy radiation information was publicly unavailable. Safecast was formed in response, and quickly began monitoring, collecting, and openly sharing information on environmental radiation and other pollutants.
