Fukushima Daiichi and US Domestic Nuclear Crisis

Fairewinds - Radio April 1

About This Interview

WBAI's Robert Knight and Fairewinds' Arnie Gundersen discuss the prospects of a domestic nuclear crisis. Robert and Arnie discuss last year's flooding and fire at the Nebraska Ft. Calhoun nuclear reactor, the bewildering containment cracks at the Crystal River nuclear plant operated by Progress Energy in Florida, the aging Vermont Yankee plant in Vermont, and the current steam generator failures and related issues at San Onofre Units 2 and 3 in California. One thing is clear: America’s fleet of aging nukes need more thorough regulation not less. Arnie also updates Robert and his listeners on the ongoing tragedy at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power reactors.
